Description

Regenon retard 60mg capsule

Regenon retard 60mg capsule from indications and contraindications to composition, interactions, method of administration, precautions, and possible side effects

Indication

  • This medicine is an appetite suppressant. It is used as a supportive treatment in patients who are overweight and have a body mass index (BMI) of at least 30 kg per m 2 and who have not responded to appropriate weight-loss measures alone. The body mass index is calculated from the quotient of body weight in kilograms and height in meters squared:
    • KMI = body weight in kg / (height in m) 2
  • A notice:
    • Only short-term effectiveness in terms of weight reduction has been demonstrated. Significant data on changes in morbidity and mortality are not yet available.

contraindication

  • The drug must not be taken if
    • you are allergic to amfepramone hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of the medicine,
    • the heartbeat accelerates in fits and starts (paroxysmal tachycardia),
    • you have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism),
    • in narrowing of the coronary arteries (severe forms of angina pectoris),
    • with glaucoma (narrow-angle glaucoma),
    • current or previous mental illnesses, including anorexia nervosa and depression,
    • in advanced arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries),
    • during pregnancy and lactation,
    • in children under 12 years of age.
  • Simultaneous treatment with other centrally acting appetite suppressants must not be carried out because of the increased risk of the occurrence of potentially fatal pulmonary hypertension.

Dosage of Regenon retard 60mg

  • Always take this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure.
  • The recommended dose is:
    • Adults and children over 12 years take 1 capsule once a day.
    • The total daily dose should not exceed 1 capsule.
  • duration of use
    • The duration of treatment is 4 to 6 weeks and should not exceed three months.
    • If no weight loss is observed after 3-4 weeks, treatment should be discontinued. However, if the weight loss continues during this time, the
preparation should not be taken for a total of more than 12 weeks. The duration of the usage will be decided by the medicating doctor.
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
  • If you take more than you should:
    • The danger of an overdose consists of blood pressure crises, cardiac arrhythmia and acute psychological reactions.
    • Manifestations of an acute overdose are restlessness, tremor (shaking), hyperreflexia (increased reflexes), accelerated breathing, states of confusion, irritability,
hallucinations (false perceptions), states of anxiety, etc. Central overexcitement can be followed by states of exhaustion and depression. Cardiovascular effects can include arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat), hypertension (high blood pressure) and circulatory collapse.
    • Gastrointestinal symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps.
    • If an overdose is suspected, a doctor should be notified immediately. Depending on how long ago the intake was taken, the doctor should
      take the following measures:
      • Gastric lavage, saline laxatives. Respiratory and circulatory support, 10 – 20 mg diazepam iv, possibly repeated after 10 minutes.
      • At the same time a-receptor blockers such as tolazoline, glyceryl trinitrate or isosorbide dinitrate.
      • There is insufficient experience with hemofiltration or peritoneal dialysis to be able to give adequate treatment advice.
      • Regular checks of blood pressure, ECG, kidney function and blood electrolytes as well as psychiatric consultations are recommended.
      • Keep patient cool and calm.
    • Since the active ingredient in the medicinal product is released with a delay of 10 – 12 hours after ingestion, care must be taken to ensure that intoxication is treated over a sufficiently long period of time.
    • The other options for treating poisoning with amfepramone hydrochloride depend on the extent and course of the symptoms of poisoning.
  • If you forget to take a dose:
    • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
  • If you stop taking:
    • If the drug is used as intended, there are no special features to be observed.
    • If the effect of amfepramone decreases (tolerance), the recommended dose should not be increased, but the therapy should be interrupted.
  • If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
