Thiocodin syrop 100ml

Thiocodin syrop 100ml is an over-the-counter drug used for dry cough. The drug works in two ways, it allows you to get rid of a troublesome, unproductive dry cough, reducing the cough reflex. It also supports bronchial lubrication and mucus production and then helps to cough up secretions.

Composition Thiocodin syrop 100ml

The active substance of the drug is codeine phosphate hemihydrate (Codeini phosphas hemihydricus) and sulfoguaiacol (Sulfogaiacolum). 10 ml of syrup contains 15 mg of codeine phosphate hemihydrate and 300 mg of sulfoguaiacol.
Excipients: sucrose, glycerol, sodium benzoate, strawberry flavor 502301T, citric acid monohydrate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.

How to dose Thiocodin syrup?

The use of Thiocodin syrup in adults and children over 12 years of age: 10 ml of syrup (1 scoop) three times a day, not more often than every 4 to 6 hours. Do not use doses higher than recommended. A measuring cup is attached to the medicinal product. Thiocodin should not be used in children under 12 years of age. Take Thiocodin syrup orally, during meals. Adequate fluid intake (at least 2 liters) should be taken during the day to obtain the desired effect of the medicinal product.

Interactions with other drugs

Caution is required when using concomitantly with another preparation containing codeine, as there is a risk of codeine overdose.

Thiocodin syrup and tablets should not be taken together with certain pharmaceuticals. Their combination with preparations:
•   anxiolytics    ,
e.g. among others diazepam, temazepam, • cytostatics, • opioid analgesics, e.g. morphine, heroin, • skeletal muscle relaxants, e.g. diazepam, tetrazepam and temazepam, • clonidine, • drugs containing alcohol
